Veteran Congress leader ND Tiwari urged the Delhi High Court on Wednesday to keep the report of his DNA test confidential till the conclusion of the hearing in a paternity suit filed by Rohit Shekhar, who claims to be his biological son.

After politician ND Tiwari refused to participate in a DNA test for a paternity suit against him, a doctor and a court official reached his house today in Dehradun to force his co-operation. Chief Medical Officer BS Pathak said the officials collected the blood sample of Mr Tiwari.

In a major setback for veteran Congress leader ND Tiwari, the Supreme Court today rejected his plea for a stay on a DNA test ordered by the Delhi High Court to decide a paternity suit filed by a man claiming to be his son.

Congress leader ND Tiwari was on Monday asked by the Delhi High Court to appear before it in person on May 26 to give a blood sample for a DNA test to decide the paternity suit of a man claiming to be his son.

Congress leader Narayan Dutt Tiwari was reprimanded today for "open contempt of court" because of his attempts to duck a paternity test. Angry judges at the Delhi High Court said that on Monday, court officials will decide when Mr Tiwari, now 86 years old, will have to submit his blood sample.
