Ambareesh Murty completed his Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Calcutta in 1996.

The funds will be used to scale Pepperfry's logistics and service network and to expand the footprint of Pepperfry Studios.

Pepperfry, an Indian online furniture marketplace, said on Wednesday it had raised Rs 2.1 billion rupees ($31.3 million) from existing investors including Goldman Sachs Group Inc in a new round of funding.

The fourth round of funding will be used to strengthen the company's logistics, technology platform, experience centres and marketing efforts.
