Photo Voter Slip

The Election Commission of India has decided to provide voter information slip, instead of photo voter slip, to all voters who have enrolled themselves, at least 5 days before the April 6 Assembly election.

The Election Commission on Thursday said a photo voter slip shall no longer be used as a standalone identification document during elections, and a voter will have to carry any of the twelve approved identity cards to the polling station.

To ensure that only genuine voters get to exercise their franchise on polling day, the Election Commission will for the first time be handing out photo voters' slips to electors.

The Election Commission (EC) would insist on voters compulsorily carrying their photo identity card or the voter's slip henceforth in Andhra Pradesh.
