Prime Minister Narendra Modi's abrupt withdrawal of 500 and 1,000 rupee notes has "taught the corrupt a strong lesson," said minister Piyush Goyal in parliament this morning, responding to a scathing speech by the Congress' Anand Sharma about how the ban has hit the poor, while letting fat cats off the hook.
