A day after he visited the Mudumalai Tiger Reserve in Tamil Nadu and the Bandipur Tiger Reserve in Karnataka, Prime Minister Modi posted some more pictures from what he described as an "amazing experience."

On the occasion of International Tiger Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday lauded all those actively working to protect the big cat and said innovative measures are being undertaken to involve local communities in tiger protection.

India is committed to ensuring safe habitats for its tigers and nurturing tiger-friendly eco system, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, pointing out that India is home to over 70 per cent of the tiger population globally.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will join adventurer Bear Grylls in an episode of "Man vs Wild", the legendary show on Discovery Channel, next month.

With around 3,000 tigers, India has become "one of the safest habitats" for them in the world, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said today as he released the All India Tiger Estimation Report 2018.
