A carpenter in Kanpur claims to be running from pillar to post to get a loan sanctioned under Prime Minister Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) in spite of the Prime Minister's personal recommendations.

Nearly 41,000 jobs have been created under the Prime Minister's Employment Generation Programme in the current fiscal till July 16, Parliament was informed on monday.

The bank said these centres would function from the Circle offices located in the 47 centres and act as a nodal point for all matters relating to micro enterprises segment, including various government schemes under the segment such as PMEGP, Weavers Credit Card Scheme and National Urban Livelihood Mission.

The government on Monday allocated Rs 8,060 crore for the Prime Minister's Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) to create over 27 lakh jobs in the 12th Plan period ending March 2017.
