GAIL Gas Ltd, the city gas arm of the nation's largest gas firm GAIL (India) Ltd, on Sunday announced a reduction of up to Rs 7 in the prices of CNG and piped cooking gas following a reduction in input gas price.

Adani Total Gas Ltd (ATGL) has reduced the price of CNG by up to Rs 8.13/kg and the price of PNG by up to Rs 5.06 per standard cubic metre with effect from today.

The Gujarat government announced a reduction in VAT (Value Added Tax) on CNG and PNG by 10% and said two cooking gas cylinders will be given free every year to 38 lakh beneficiaries who have got gas connections under the Centre's Ujjwala scheme.

Mahanagar Gas on Tuesday cut the prices of kitchen fuel Piped Natural Gas (PNG) and automobile fuel Compressed Natural Gas (CNG), following an increase in allocation of domestically produced natural gas from the government.

According to estimates, each dollar decrease in gas prices curtails annual revenue of state-run ONGC by Rs 4,200 crore and profit by Rs 2,400 crore.
