The Union Power Ministry has directed the Telangana government to pay power dues, including late payment surcharge, to the tune of Rs 6,756 crore to Andhra Pradesh within a month.

The government has taken several measures to mitigate the impact which include rebate on capacity charges, relaxing provisions of letter of credit for scheduling of power and liquidity infusion scheme.

Surcharge on power for farmers has been waived off with immediate effect, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced on Thursday evening.

The company also powers digital payments for LPG companies like Indane, Bharat Gas and HP.
