Prison Officer In Madhya Pradesh

A local special court on Thursday sentenced former Indian Police Service (IPS) officer Rajendra Chaturvedi to five years of imprisonment for taking bribe to recruit jail wardens when he was the additional director general (prisons).

Akash Vijayvargiya, son of senior BJP leader Kailash Vijayvargiya, was garlanded by party workers this morning as he walked out of prison on bail, four days after his arrest for thrashing a civic body official in Madhya Pradesh's Indore. Party workers had also fired shots in the air at the BJP office on Saturday to celebrate his reprieve.
