The central government in February 2019 privatised six major airports of the country, namely, Lucknow, Ahmedabad, Jaipur, Mangaluru, Thiruvananthapuram, and Guwahati. After a competitive bidding process, the Adani group won the rights to run all of them for 50 years.

Kerala Approaches High Court Seeking Stay On Airport Lease To Adani Group

The Kerala government on Friday approached the Kerala High Court seeking a stay on further proceedings in leasing out Thiruvananthapuram airport to Adani Enterprises. Unless the stay is granted, "it will be put to irreparable injury and hardship", the state government said in its application challenging the centre's move to privatise the airport.
