Yemeni pro-government forces advancing into the strategic province of Taez were battling rebels on the outskirts of its second largest town today, military sources said.

Yemen's Huthi rebels pounded an area in the southern province of Taez shortly after the start early Monday of a humanitarian truce declared by the Saudi-led coalition bombing the Iran-backed insurgents.
