Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar has said that the schools and colleges in Pune will reopen from February 1.

Maharashtra School Opening: Earlier, the schools for students of primary and middle sections in Maharashtra were supposed to reopen in the first week of December, but the decision was postponed due to the emergence of the Omicron variant of coronavirus.

Amid the threats from new Covid-19 variant Omicron, the Pune Municipal Corporation has postponed reopening of schools for classes 1 to 7 till December 15.

After being closed for about a year-and-a-half, schools in Maharashtra's Pune district reopened for physical classes on Monday.

After a gap of almost 11 months, schools for students of Classes 5 to 8 reopened in Pune on Monday, while adhering to COVID-19 norms.

After remaining closed for over nine months due to the COVID-19 outbreak, schools reopened on Monday for students of select classes in Aurangabad, Nagpur and Pune cities of Maharashtra with all protocols and precautions in place.

School Reopening News: While Pune, Nagpur, and Bihar will hold regular classes for only upper primary classes, Puducherry will open schools for all students of Classes 1 to 12.

The schools will hold physical sessions only for Classes 9 to 12. As per the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC), all teachers and school staff will have to undergo mandatory RT-PCR tests and carry its negative report on Day 1 to be allowed within the school and college premises.

Class 9 to Class 12 will open for face-to-face learning within the limits of Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) from January 4, 2021. RT-PCR tests for teachers and non-teaching staff have been made mandatory for schools and colleges.
