Negotiation over the post of Lok Sabha Speaker - a prized position allowing the party in the hot-seat to control House proceedings - will resume at 5 pm with a meeting of union ministers and the BJP's allies at Defence Minister Rajnath Singh's home.

BJP president Amit Shah has made several changes in the party organisation reshuffling office bearers who are in charge of various states for the party. Mr Shah has made 17 appointments while retaining 19 office bearers 19 in the same capacity. New appointments have also been made to the various party morchas (cells).

Congress leader Purandeswari, the daughter of famous actor-politician NTR, says she wants to join the BJP, and will formally approach the party tomorrow.
