Raid On Maoists

The NIA on Thursday raided 31 locations in Bihar as part of its efforts to expose and foil a conspiracy by members of the proscribed CPI-Maoist to revive its organisation in the Magadh zone, an official said.

The three activists were arrested along with P Vara Vara Rao and Gautam Navlakha by the Pune police on August 28 during country-wide raids

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Tuesday searched 15 locations in Jharkhand and West Bengal in connection with a probe into the role of some companies allegedly involved in funding of a Maoist outfit Tritiya Prastuti Committee (TPC), said the agency.

As many as 128 organisations suspected to have links with Maoists were identified by the UPA government in 2012 and some of those arrested by the Maharashtra Police on Tuesday were part of these front organisations of the extremist groups.
