Rajasthan Heavy Rainfall News

Northwest India saw incessant rainfall over three days from Saturday, with many areas in Jammu and Kashmir, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan recording "heavy to extremely heavy" rains.

Several places in Sirohi, Ajmer, Pali, Karauli, Jaipur, Jalore, Tonk and Sikar faced waterlogging due to heavy rains.

Seven people died in rain-related incidents and 265 people were rescued by relief forces as extremely heavy rainfall triggered by a depression, a remnant of Cyclone Biparjoy, battered parts of Rajasthan during the last two days, officials said.

Cyclone Biparjoy: Parts of Rajasthan have seen heavy rainfall this morning as Cyclone Biparjoy began moving towards the state. A "red" alert has been sounded for Jalore and Barmer districts.

Light to Moderate rainfall occurred at some places in Rajasthan in 24 hours while heavy showers lashed isolated pockets of the state, the Meteorological (MeT) department said on Thursday.

Heavy rains at isolated places in Jhalawar, Dholpur and Kota districts of east Rajasthan was reported in the last 24 hours, a MeT department spokesperson said.
