Rajnath Arrives In China

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh today arrived in Vietnam on a three-day visit. He was welcomed at the airport by India's Ambassador to Vietnam Pranay Verma and senior officers of Vietnam's Ministry of National Defence.

Terming terrorism a "cancer" that needed to be removed jointly by world community, China today called for close cooperation between Indian and Chinese security establishments as the two countries for the first time worked out a joint mechanism to combat the menace.

Home Minister Rajnath Singh arrived in Beijing tonight on a six-day visit to China during which he will discuss ways to boost bilateral security ties and check smuggling of arms to militants in India's Northeast.
