Ram Naik On Lokayukta Appointment

Uttar Pradesh Governor Ram Naik on Friday referred to the President another controversial bill which seeks to end the role of the Chief Justice of Allahabad High Court in selection of the Lokayukta.

Justifying his decision to hold back some names sent by the Samajwadi Party government for appointing of members to the legislative council, Uttar Pradesh Governor Ram Naik said that he was following the rule-book on the issue.

Uttar Pradesh Governor Ram Naik today returned the file for appointment of Lokayukta to the state government saying he was not bound to accept Cabinet's recommendation and asked it to send any other name except Justice (retd) Ravindra Singh after following due procedure.
