The wastage of coronavirus vaccine has been an area of concern for the government, National Health Authority CEO Dr Ram Sewak Sharma said Friday, suggesting that consolidating smaller vaccination centres into larger ones can help address this issue.

Former telecom regulator Ram Sewak Sharma, chairman of the government's Empowered Group on Technology and Data Management to combat COVID-19 and member of the National Expert Group on Vaccine Administration spoke to NDTV about the country's vaccination programme that expands on Monday.

TRAI Chairman Ram Sewak Sharma, whose tenure saw major decisions on issues like termination charges and predatory pricing, was on Thursday given two-year extension.

RS Sharma, the telecom watchdogwho threw the controversial Aadhaar challenge, has been given two more years as head of the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI). Mr Sharma's term was to end this week.

"Nobody's asking Apple to violate its privacy policy," said Ram Sewak Sharma, chairman of TRAI. "It is a ridiculous situation, no company can be allowed to be the guardian of a user's data."
