The COA in its fourth Status Report submitted to Supreme Court has intimated the Apex Court that Mohinder Amarnath and Kumble have "communicated their inability to be part of the Steering Committee" and Edulji can't be a part as she is a member of COA.

Sitaram Yechury has been unanimously elected the new general secretary of the Communist Party of India (Marxist). His name was proposed for the post by outgoing party chief Prakash Karat and veteran S Ramachandran Pillai, who had initially been in the race for the post.
