Enthused with the success of Main Aur Charles, filmmaker Prawaal Raman is now gearing up to direct a sequel. "We are in talks with our collaborator in France. The sequel will showcase Charles' life in Europe. It will be in French and in Hindi and will hopefully be ready for release by 2017," Mr Raman told the media

"As I got to know a lot more about him, my perception did change. We cannot play a character without empathising with the person. Without being present over there, I used to think why he did it and to what extent. There is nothing called doing intense parts in films. It's called getting involved," said Randeep

Charles Sobhraj is currently in a jail in Nepal, having been convicted for his numerous brutal murders in the 1970s. He was even convicted and jailed in India from 1976 to 1997. Directed by Prawaal Raman, Main Aur Charles is scheduled to release on October 30

"Of course. Why would I not think he's innocent? Even in Nepal where he's been thrown into prison, he was a straight prisoner. I empathized with him. And no, I didn't feel sorry for him at all, in fact he knows what he is doing and is good at that," said Randeep Hooda who will play the role of Charles Shobraj in Main Aur Charles

The two-minute-long clip describes Mr Sobhraj with epithets like "manipulative, intelligent and hypnotic". The 39-year-old-actor gets into the skin of the character with ease, looking the part in a flat cap, oversized shades, a two-piece suit and a tie. He mouths the words: "It is good to be evil"

On September 9, the 39-year-old actor, who last played Raja Ravi Varma in Rang Rasiya, shared the motion poster of Main Aur Charles along with the release date of the movie.
