Describing start-ups as embodiment of "creativity and innovation of young India", leading industrialist Ratan Tata, who has made a string of personal investments in new ventures, has said he puts money on idea that "excite" him.

"Tata's personal investment in our unique start-up is a testament to the market opportunity and calibre of our team, which is building a valuable marketplace," the Gurgaon-based UrbanClap said in a statement.

Ratan Tata, the chairman emeritus of Tata Sons, has made a personal investment in food startup Holachef. The amount invested has not been undisclosed.
