A high-end car was chased down and its driver arrested in the early hours Sunday after the vehicle hit two people in Reay Road area of Mumbai, police said.

While the people of Mumbai were sleeping on Saturday night, a dangerous midnight car chase was unfolding on Reay Road in south Mumbai after the driver of a BMW luxury sedan hit some people and sped away. Two of several people hit by the sedan have been admitted to hospital, the police said.

When four robbers barged into the luggage compartment of a CST-bound train at Wadala late last night and robbed a hapless commuter inside, he got their own back by holding on tight to one of the robbers as he tried to get off the train at Reay Road station. The man was eventually arrested at CST.

A pedestrian was injured after he was hit by a car allegedly driven by a drunk police constable who first rammed it into a BMW in Reay Road area, police said on Monday.

In another incident of innocent lives being lost due to rash driving, a speeding trailer trampled a 30-year-old woman and her three daughters, who were sleeping on the footpath outside their slum on St Louis Bridge at Reay Road in Mumbai, early Tuesday morning.
