Red Alert In Gujarat

Heavy rain in parts of Gujarat has led to severe waterlogging, causing a flood-like situation. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red alert warning of heavy to very heavy rainfall in the state tomorrow.

Cyclone Biparjoy: Parts of Rajasthan have seen heavy rainfall this morning as Cyclone Biparjoy began moving towards the state. A "red" alert has been sounded for Jalore and Barmer districts.

Nearly one lakh people have been shifted to shelters from Gujarat's coastal region ahead of cyclone Biparjoy's expected landfall in Kutch district this evening. Red and Orange alerts have been issued in several districts of the state.

Cyclone Biparjoy is expected to make landfall in Gujarat's Saurashtra and Kutch regions and adjoining Pakistan coasts tomorrow evening. The storm is currently located over the east-central Arabian Sea, about 350 kilometers southwest of Porbandar.

Cyclonic storm Tauktae, which is likely to intensify into a "severe cyclonic storm" within 24 hours, may hit Gujarat coast by Tuesday morning, the weather office has said. Gujarat and Diu coasts are under a cyclone watch.
