Reform Remarks Row

Following the row over his remarks on the H-1B visa programme, Indian-American US presidential aspirant Vivek Ramaswamy has said he understands what he wants to reform and stressed that the H-1B programme was "senseless".

Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee has said it cannot be denied that some reforms have slowed down due to "pressure of coalition politics." His comments came a day after a controversy over the government's Chief Economic Advisor Kaushik Basu's remarks that economic reforms in India may continue to remain slow till 2014.
