Right Livelihood Award

Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg on Wednesday won the Right Livelihood Award, sometimes called the "alternative Nobel Prize", the jury for the Swedish human rights prize said.

The Right Livelihood Award honours "those offering practical and exemplary answers to the most urgent challenges facing us today."

Edward Snowden has been selected among the winners of the Right Livelihood Award, also known as the "alternative Nobel," for his disclosures of top secret surveillance programs.
