In fresh trouble for Congress leader Sonia Gandhi's son-in-law Robert Vadra, the Enforcement Directorate has filed a money laundering case against a firm allegedly linked to him and a few others in connection with suspected financial and other irregularities in land deals in Haryana's Gurgaon in 2008, officials said Monday.

The Gurgaon police have sought permission from the state government to probe the case registered against former Haryana chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda over a land deal which allegedly favoured Congress leader Sonia Gandhi's son-in-law Robert Vadra.

A First Information Report or FIR has been filed against businessman Robert Vadra, the brother-in-law of Congress president Rahul Gandhi, and former Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda over alleged irregularities in a string of land deals in Gurgaon.

The centre has moved the Delhi High Court against a CIC order asking it to inform whether IAS officer Ashok Khemka, known for cancelling Sonia Gandhi's son-in-law Robert Vadra's alleged illegal land deal in Gurgaon, was considered for the post of joint secretary in the centre.
