Hardik Patel, who has been leading an agitation seeking reservations for the Patel community in Gujarat, has been arrested for violating prohibitory orders. He was detained this morning in Surat as he tried to take out a protest march from the city. Fifty of his supporters were also detained by the police.

A fisherman in Gujarat's Jamnagar has virtually turned a crorepati following a prize catch in the high seas recently. Hasan Vagher struck gold when he caught nearly 380 Ghol fish from the Jhakhau creek in mid-sea. The catch is worth over Rs 80 lakhs.
