Rohit Nandan Appointed

As many as 16 appointments were approved today by the Appointments Committee of Cabinet headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and include 15 new Secretaries and one for the position of National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) Chairman.

The Central Information Commission has directed the government to disclose all papers relating to the removal of Arvind Jadhav as the CMD of Air India and appointment of incumbent Rohit Nandan, in response to an RTI activist's appeal.

Rohit Nandan, Joint Secretary, Civil Aviation Ministry, has been appointed as CMD (Chairman and Managing Director) of Air India for a three-year period, said an official. He replaces Arvind Jadhav, who was given a pink slip for his mishandling of the pilots' strike.
