One person was killed and two others were seriously injured on Thursday after an explosion occurred in an industrial furnace of a private steel plant in Odisha's Sundargarh district, police said.

These units will boost the productivity of hot metal and techno economics in largest Blast Furnace in the country at SAIL Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) set up at a cost of Rs 1,600 core, which was made operational in August 2013, it said.
