Rs 50 Crore Fixed Deposit

Seven people were arrested for allegedly trying to defraud a leading private sector bank of Rs 50 crore by attempting to pass off fake fixed deposit slips as original, the police said today.

With bank deposits swelling, analysts expect banks to pass on the RBI rate cuts at a faster pace than the lenders have done in the past.

The famous Saibaba temple at Shirdi in Maharashtra, one of the richest shrines in the country, has ornaments and jewellery worth Rs 50,53,17,473 and a total fixed deposits worth Rs 6,27,56,97488 as on March 31 last year, including investments in Kisan Vikas Patra.
