The heart of a two-year-old boy who died on Friday morning at a hospital in Bengaluru was successfully transplanted into another young child in Chennai. The heart was rushed from one city to another, all within the space of four hours.

Four women employees of Axis Bank were killed in a fire accident at the bank's building in Coimbatore. The fire started on the third floor of the building at 10:15 am. Twelve fire engines were rushed to the spot and it took them two hours to douse the fire.
