An innovative project that aims at making contaminated water from rivers and ponds safe for drinking and promises to make the same available to the people at 50 paisa per litre was launched today by social organisation Sulabh International.

To enhance women's safety in the megapolis, Mumbai police are planning to use Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) for surveillance and install 'panic buttons' across the city, a senior official said today.

A pilot project aimed at eliminating drunken driving incidents and spreading awareness about road safety was launched in the city with support from Telangana government and various stakeholders.

As many as 500 more CCTV cameras are being installed across various places in Hyderabad under the 'Safe City' project.
