Sajjan Kumar Riots Case Transferred

Congress leader Sajjan Kumar was today pulled up by Delhi High Court making allegations of bias against a judge and seeking transfer of a 1984 anti-Sikh riots case, saying it was "a frontal attack intended to humiliate the judge" and warned of invoking contempt proceedings.

The BJP has sought an apology from Congress President Sonia Gandhi over an application moved by party leader Sajjan Kumar in the Delhi High Court to transfer a case against him relating to the 1984 anti-Sikh riots as one of the judges on the bench hearing the case is a Sikh.

The Delhi High Court has transferred from one trial court to another a 1984 anti-Sikh riots case involving Congress leader Sajjan Kumar, "in view of the controversy generated" over allegations that the evidence was not being properly recorded.
