The Trump administration is weighing a Saudi request to grant Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman immunity from prosecution over accusations that he orchestrated a conspiracy to kill a former high-level Saudi official, according to a person familiar with the matter.

The Rajasthan High Court Monday issued notices to film stars Saif Ali Khan, Neelam Kothari, Sonali Bendre and Tabbu on an appeal by the state government, challenging their acquittal by a trial court in a case of hunting two black bucks in 1998.

"On basis of evidences produced by the prosecution, (Salman Khan) cannot be convicted, no matter how differently the common man thinks," the High Court said, in a verdict cheered not just by his family and fans but also by the film industry

The court also said that singer Kamaal Khan, who was also in Salman Khan's car that night, should have been examined. Last month, Mr Khan's plea to make Kamaal Khan a witness in the case was dismissed by the court. "The defence brought the witness at an appropriate time, it is not delayed defence," said the court, dismissing the prosecution's argum...

The court has also questioned the credibility of Salman Khan's bodyguard Ravindra Patil, a key prosecution witness who had said that the actor was driving drunk and had ignored his warnings repeatedly. No one but Mr Patil had given this version, the court noted

While dictating the order, the court had observed that it came to the conclusion that the prosecution has failed to bring material on record to establish beyond reasonable doubt that Salman Khan was driving and was under the influence of alcohol.
