Noted Indian historian Sanjay Subrahmanyam has won Israel's prestigious Dan David Prize for this year for his work on inter-cultural encounters between Asians, Europeans and people of North and South America during the early modern era.

S Jaishankar, the new Indian Ambassador to the US, will arrive in Washington tomorrow to take charge amid a raging diplomatic row over the arrest and strip-search of senior diplomat Devyani Khobragade on visa fraud charges.

In a BSE filing, Infosys said, "Dheeshjith VG, Eric Paternoster, Ganesh Thakkar, Haragopal Mangipudi, Jackie Korhonen, Manish Tandon, Muralikrishna K, Ravi Kumar S, Ronald Hafner, Sanjay Jalona and Subrahmanyam Goparaju have been appointed as members of the Executive Council of the company, effective November 1, 2013."
