Top Court Referred To Ain-i-Akbari, Travelogues, Reports In Ayodhya Case

The Supreme Court referred to books on subjects as diverse as history, culture, archaeology and religion in languages as varied as Sanskrit, Hindi, Urdu, Persian, Turkish, French and English in its judgment on the Ayodhya land dispute, but exercised caution in making deductions saying there were "dangers" in interpreting history.

Lord Rama 'Abducted' Sita, Says Gujarat School Textbook

Sita was "abducted" by Lord Rama, says a textbook of Class XII in Gujarat. As the blooper in the English version of Sanskrit subject came to light, the Gujarat State School Textbook Board (GSSTB) today described it as a translation error and ordered an inquiry.

The lower committee of Uttarakhand Madrassa Education Board (UMEB) has given its nod to a proposal seeking inclusion of Sanskrit and Computer Science as optional subjects in madrassas all over the state from the next academic session.

The Centre on Friday stood by its decision on replacing German as third language with Sanskrit in Kendriya Vidyalayas (KV) but conceded before the Supreme Court that no exam would be conducted for the subject in the current session.
