Government-Run Madrassas, Sanskrit Tols To Operate As General Educational Institutes In Assam

The Assam Government will utilise the services of the staff of State Madrassa Board and there will no change in the service conditions of the staff till retirement, Education Minister of the state Himanta Biswa Sarma said.

After facing opposition from various corners regarding its decision to make Sanskrit compulsory till class 8, Bharatiya Janata Party led government in Assam today said that it will implement the Cabinet decision only after having "general consensus" and removing "practical difficulties".
