The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has told a court in Maharashtra that it has found no evidence against 11 people accused of killing Right To Information activist Satish Shetty in 2010, just three days after it was given four weeks to investigate what could have been a possible motive for the murder.

Back in 2010, the Bombay High Court, while hearing the murder case of Right to Information (RTI) activist Satish Shetty in Maharashtra, ordered the state government to provide police protection to the many activists who complain of threats after filing applications under the RTI Act.

A sessions court on Thursday gave the green signal to the CBI to conduct polygraph tests on 12 persons in connection with the murder of RTI activist Satish Shetty. These 12 include an IRB official and five suspects, who were earlier arrested by the local crime branch of the rural police.
