A couple and their two children were killed after the car they were traveling in was hit by a truck in Satna district of Madhya Pradesh, police said on Thursday.

A Madhya Pradesh Police constable, Prabal Pratap Singh, was crushed to death by a tractor, allegedly involved in black marketing of diesel in Madhya Pradesh village where he was investigating the matter, the police said.

The local police station in-charge has been suspended for telling superiors that constable Prabal Pratap Singh had died in a road accident, he added.
