Environmental activists today said they would take the message of 'Save Ganga' crusader G D Agarwal to every nook and corner of the country.

Congress president Rahul Gandhi today praised environmental activist GD Agarwal for his contribution towards saving the Ganga river and vowed to "take his fight forward."

Save Ganga activist GD Aggarwal, who has been on indefinite fast since June this year to protest against hydel-projects on the river's tributaries in Uttarakhand, was brought to a city hospital today after his condition worsened.

Noted environmentalist Swami Gyan Swarup Sanand, who has been fasting to press for his demand of conservation of Ganga river, has once again been forcefully admitted to hospital in Varanasi. The Save Ganga activist was forcefully admitted to hospital late Friday night by police after his medical report showed his deteriorating health.

An 80-year-old environmentalist who has been on a hunger strike since January 14 has ended his fast today. GD Agarwal was hospitalized in Delhi on Monday. He has been campaigning for years for a better government effort to clean up the Ganga.
