The Bombay High Court's Goa bench on Wednesday convicted a person in the 2008 British teenager Scarlett Eden Keeling death case, overturning his acquittal by the trial court.

British teenager Scarlett Keeling's mother, Fiona MacKeown has written a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi requesting his intervention in the case of death of her daughter in Goa and has sought a fresh investigation by a Special Investigation Team.

Fiona MacKeown, the mother of 15-year-old Scarlett Keeling found dead on a Goa beach eight years ago, says she feels she is on trial after a children's court acquitted two men of all charges in her daughter's death and questioned her actions in its order.

All it took was a verdict delivered in less than five seconds to leave British teenager Scarlett Keeling's mother in shock and complete disbelief. Both Samson D'Souza and Placido Carvalho, accused of raping the 15-year-old and causing her death in 2008, have been acquitted of all charges.

Even as cops in Goa insist they will push the courts to ensure that the trial in the rape case involving Tehelka's Tarun Tejpal is concluded in 60 days, justice in the rape and murder case of British national Scarlett Keeling is still awaited six years later.

Five years after her daughter, Scarlett Keeling, was drugged, raped, and murdered in Goa, Fiona Mackeown is still waiting for justice. Scarlett was 15 years old when she was killed in February 2008.
