Following the demand by the Delhi government, Indian Railways will providing 75 isolation coaches to the national capital which will have 1,200 beds as Covid Care Centers at Anand Vihar Terminal and Shakurbasti railway stations.

The National Green Tribunal (NGT) on Wednesday directed the Central Pollution Control Board to recover a fine of Rs 71.62 lakh from Northern Railways noting that it has failed to stop air pollution around the Shakurbasti railway station due to loading and unloading of cement.

The Railways has deployed 204 isolation coaches in four states, including 54 at Delhi's Shakurbasti railway station maintenance depot, officials said, adding that the number in the capital will be scaled up to 500 in the coming days.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Saturday accused the BJP of having his public rally cancelled, while questioning how many rallies of the BJP were cancelled in the last five years.
