A group of activists demonstrated outside the Yerawada Central Jail in Pune today, protesting against the decision to grant parole to actor Sanjay Dutt. Waving black flags and banners, the activists shouted slogans, demanding that Mr Dutt should not be granted parole and must be treated at par with other prisoners.

A retired couple was stabbed to death in Lucknow's posh Gomti Nagar area last night. Lata Mehra, a retired enforcement official, and her husband A Mehra, a retired cashier with a bank, were found lying in a pool of blood inside their house, according to the police. They had allegedly been stabbed multiple times with a kitchen knife.
