Shamli Journalist Beaten

Amit Sharma, the Uttar Pradesh journalist who was brutally beaten up on a video on Tuesday, has today claimed that he was targeted by Railway personnel for "exposing" their illegal activity.

A journalist is punched, slapped and abused by a group of policemen as he pleads with them to stop, in a video from western Uttar Pradesh. The journalist said a group of Railway Police personnel locked him up and abused him last night when he went to cover the derailment of a train in Shamli district.
