The CBI has filed a 2500 pages chargesheet in Right to Information activist Shehla Masood's murder case in a special court in Indore. The prime accused in the case Zahida Pervez, Saba Farooqui, Shaqib Ali (danger) Irfan and Tabish were produced before Special CBI judge Shubra Singh have been charged with murder and conspiracy.

The CBI claims that Shehla Masood, a Right to Information Activist, was killed on the instructions of a female interior designer from Bhopal named Zahida Parvez. However, sources in the investigating agency say they will soon reveal the alleged role of an MLA from the BJP in Bhopal. They said more arrests are likely soon.

Concerned over a string of recent attacks on RTI activists across the country, the Central Information Commission (CIC) today stepped in, saying it is the duty of respective governments to take "urgent" steps to safeguard the life and liberty of the activists.
