Shehla Rashid, a former student leader at the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), has said that the people belonging to the 'left and liberal ecosystem' criticized the government for imposing lockdown during COVID-19 for the sake of it.

Amid the war between Israel and Hamas in Gaza, former student leader Shehla Rashid has said Indians are lucky and thanked the government and security forces for ensuring "long-term peace and security" in Kashmir.

A case under the sedition law was filed against activist Shehla Rashid earlier this week for her tweets in which she had claimed that the armed forces were "entering houses" in Jammu and Kashmir and "picking up boys". The case was filed on the complaint of a Supreme Court lawyer, the First Information Report accessed by NDTV said.
