A helicopter scheduled to carry Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan developed a technical snag, forcing him to travel by road for more than 120 km today, an official said.

The helicopter carrying Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Sunday landed in Manawar town of Dhar district from where it had taken off sometime back due to a technical glitch, police said.

It was a dream come true for four tribals from Madhya Pradesh's Alirajpur district today as they flew in a helicopter for the first time.

Villagers from flood-affected areas of Madhya Pradesh were airlifted by the Indian Air Force, which is assisting the Shivraj Singh Chouhan government in the rescue and relief work as swollen rivers continue to inundate large parts of the state.

Former Madhya Pradesh chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, who on Wednesday claimed his helicopter was not allowed to land in Chhindwara, has moved the Election Commission seeking action against the district collector over the issue.
