The Information and Broadcasting ministry is planning to put the recommendations of the Shyam Benegal committee in the public domain soon for comments.

"We are recommending that CBFC should not be using scissors on any film. We are suggesting that in addition to different classifications that we have - we should have two categories of U/A, one plus 12 years of age and one plus 15 years of age and two categories of adult, one is normal adult and another adult with caution"

Actor-filmmaker Kamal Haasan and director Goutam Ghose were today included in the Shyam Benegal-led committee that has been set up by the government to revamp the censor board.

The I&B ministry may soon add more members, including actor-filmmaker Kamal Haasan, to the Shyam Bengal committee that has been set up to look holistically into the functioning of the Censor Board, which has been mired in controversies in the recent past.

The committee headed by eminent filmmaker Shyam Benegal to look into the revamp of the censor board met Information and Broadcasting Minister Arun Jaitley in Mumbai today. The government had set up the committee on January 1.
