Pakistan has offered to resume dialogue with India on Kashmir, Siachen, Sir Creek and other pending issues and was awaiting a response, the country's Foreign Office spokesperson Mohammad Faisal has said.

Former Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf today said there would be no peace in the region without the resolution of outstanding issues with India, including the disputes over Kashmir, Siachen and Sir Creek.

Indian and Pakistani officials have made no forward movement on resolving the military stand-off on the Siachen glacier, with both sides sticking to their stated positions in two-day talks, diplomatic and official sources said today.

The Defence Secretaries of India and Pakistan today began talks on the military standoff on Siachen against the backdrop of calls from Islamabad to demilitarise the Himalayan glacier in the wake of an avalanche that killed 139 people at a Pakistan Army camp.

Top officials of India and Pakistan will hold talks this month on key issues like the Sir Creek maritime boundary and counter-terrorism.

India today welcomed Pakistan Army Chief General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani's remarks on resolving the Siachen issue and demilitarisation there and said the money spent on deployment of troops can be spent on development of the two countries.
