Cash-for-votes scam accused rebuked for wearing sunglasses in court

Alleged BJP activist Sohail Hindustani, an accused in the 2008 cash-for-vote scam, was today rebuked by a Delhi court for sporting sunglasses inside the courtroom during its proceedings.Special Judge Sangita Dhingra Sehgal pulled up Hindustani after the brief hearing in the case.

Samajwadi Party MP Rewati Raman Singh appeared before Delhi Police today for questioning in connection with the 2008 cash-for-vote scam, the fourth person to be quizzed in the past 10 days after the Supreme Court came down heavily on investigators for carrying out a shoddy probe.

Politician Amar Singh will be interrogated tomorrow at 11 am by the Delhi Police about his alleged role in the cash-for-votes scam. The BJP alleges that three of its MPs were offered a crore to vote for Prime Minister Manmohan Singh during a trust vote in July 2008.

Sanjeev Saxena and Suhail Hindustani, accused in the cash-for-vote scam, have been remanded to police custody till Friday. Both Saxena and Hindustani have been arrested in connection with the scam.
